NOTE: The contents of this page are for an upcoming mUzima App 3.0 release. Ensure you  are referring to this document for the right version of the mUzima app.


After successfully Configuring mUzima v3.x. , you will be set to use the application.  This page provides a guide on using the App. 

 First-time login

This illustration shall be done using the mUzima pretest server instance  accessible via URL "https://pretest.muzima.org/"

  • As a user you must be authenticated to use the application this is a security measure to ensure confidentiality of patient information. 

Login validation

The following two input text fields are required to log in to mUzima as you initially configured mUzima. 

  • Username: Enter the valid username for our demo, which is "admin."
  • Password: Enter the password for the username to the demo, which is "Test2019".

Authentication


  • If your password was changed recently check the checkbox to authenticate against the server to get the new password on the application (You will need a connection to the server)

 mUzima Bottom Navigation Menu

  • Upon successful login, the Home page will be displayed.

Home page

  • Introduced in mUzima v.3.0.0 the bottom navigation menu has replaced the traditionally mUzima dashboard. Therefore, clients are displayed upon login to the App thus doing away with the option for setting the landing page to either the client list or dashboard as was the case in the previous versions of mUzima.
  •  The bottom navigation menu has; Home Cohorts  Forms and Media  menu items.
  • The Home menu item is the default activity upon login hence it is highlighted in blue.

Location Icon

  • The location icon is used for the geo-mapping feature(This is an optional feature that can be enabled/disabled from the server side setting).

Tags Icon 

    • The tags icon  is used for filtering patients/clients based on the tags that they have. This will be discussed under patient filtering.

Sync Icon 

  • The sync icon  is located at the top-right of the home screen.
  • This icon works by transferring data between the mUzima application and the OpenMRS server.
  • When you click on the sync icon, the mUzima sync service will be executed by the application.
  • The sync service works on the application by transferring data between the mUzima application and the OpenMRS server on which the mUzima application is set on.

Incomplete Forms  

  • This tab gives a visual indication of the number of forms that are incomplete.  
  • The tab turns orange in color to make the user aware of the existence of a form or forms that were  previously saved as a draft.
  • On clicking the Incomplete Forms tab, the user is navigated to the Incomplete Form Data tab where all the incomplete forms are listed.
  •  The use of this tab will be illustrated when filling a Forms under the Forms section.

Unsynced Forms

 
●  Similar to the Incomplete Forms tab, the Unsynced Forms gives a visual indication of the number of completed forms that are yet to be synced to your OpenMRS.
●    The use of this tab will be illustrated when filling a Forms under the Forms section.

Search Patient

  • This provides the ability of searching a client from the list available on the device

All Clients

Client List 

  • This section contains the clients list, usually displayed from the cohort(s) of the program mUzima is currently setup on.

Home Page

Viewing list of patients

The client/patient list is displayed under the Home page.

The All Clients will display all the patients in the client list under the Home page.

  • Use the filter by to display the client list based on a cohort.

Using ‘Tags’ to narrow down list of patients to view

The tags icon () is located at the top-right of the home screen. When you click on the tags icon, a side page will be displayed. This side page indicates the meaning of the tags alongside the tab color-code.

  • Click on the tag icon.
  • A side page will be displayed.
  • Click on a tag to narrow down the list of patients using the tag.

Searching for a particular patient - On the device

  • You can  search for a patient in the application by clicking on the Search Patient  text field.

Client Search

  • This will open a page that is populated with all the clients in the local device storage.

  • Type the client name in the text field.
  • The client will be searched against the list and the results of patients matching the searched name will be returned.

  • Click on the client matching your search to open the client summary.

Searching for a particular patient  against an OpenMRS implementation server

Searching for a particular patent against the mUzima OpenMRS implementation server is done using the same steps as searching You can  search for a patient in the application by clicking on the Search Patient  text field.

Client Search

  • This will open a page that is populated with all the clients in the local device storage.
  • Type the client name in the text field, Search Server button will appear if the setting to search against the server is enabled for the program

Client list

  • Click on the button to search on the server.

  • The client will be searched against the server.

Server search

  • The results of patients matching the searched name will be returned.

  • Select the client and click on the download icon that comes up on the top right of the screen.

 

Download client

  • The client will be downloaded to the device and automatically opens the client summary for the client
